Jose Canseco
Jose is Chairman of the Board of Directors and a founder of MD Technologies Inc.
Inc. He is also Managing Member and founder of TSB Ventures, LLC, a Louisiana based
private equity investment company that counts MD Technologies Inc. as one of its
portfolio companies.
Prior to starting TSB, Jose served as Vice-President of Mergers and Acquisitions
of MD Technologies Inc. He has over 24 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions,
business and commercial practice, commercial litigation, governmental relations,
land use and intellectual property law.
Previously, Jose was the General Counsel of United States Environmental Services,
LLC. From 1997 to 2001, he was a General Partner with the law firm of Barton, Richardson,
Canseco and Whitney, LLP. Prior to that, Jose was an attorney with the New Orleans,
LA law firm of Chaffe, McCall, Phillips, Toler and Sarpy, LLP, starting in 1984
and becoming a general partner in 1988.
Jose is active in his community, taking a leadership role in a number of civic boards.
He has served on the board of directors of: The Louisiana Imports and Exports Trust
Authority; the New Orleans Hispanic Heritage Foundation; the Orleans Private Industry
Council; the Governor’s Pan American Commission; the New Orleans Chapter of the
Volunteers of America; the Arts Council of New Orleans; the Louisiana State Arts
Council; the Canal Street Development Corporation; and the Louisiana Artist Guild,
Inc.
Jose received his BS in Accounting from Louisiana State University in 1981 and a
Juris Doctor degree from the Paul M. Hebert Law School at Louisiana State University
in 1984.
William C. Ellison, President and Chief Executive Officer
Bill is responsible for overseeing all facets of the company’s operations, fundraising,
investor relations, and the formation and execution of the company's strategic business
plan.
From February 2000 to the present, Bill has served as a member of the Board of Directors
and Secretary of MD Technologies Inc. From February 2000 to March 2008, Bill served
as the General Counsel and was responsible for overseeing the company’s legal affairs.
He has 25 years of legal experience in the areas of corporate and insurance law,
employment practices, products liability, intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions,
commercial litigation and general tort litigation.
Bill was a 1986 graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Law, where he
served as a member of the Moot Court Board from 1984-1986. He has been a contributing
editor to the several national legal reference books.
Thomas L. Frazer
Thomas, age 62, holds bachelor’s (1967) and master’s (1969) degrees in accounting
from Louisiana State University. He is a partner in Frazer & Persac, A Professional
Accounting Corporation, a CPA practice specializing in tax and financial services
since 1980. He is a Certified Financial Planner and a member of AICPA and Louisiana
Society of CPAs.
From September 2000 to Present, Thomas served as a Director of TilTech Aquaculture,
LLC, an aquaculture firm. He also currently serves as a director of Trace Security,
Inc. (August 2005 to present, Software Firm), and Future System Advisors, LLC (September
2005 to present, Insurance Systems and Product Development Company). He is a former
Director of numerous other companies, including Fifth Generations Systems, Inc.
(January 1987 to October 1993), a software firm with $50,000,000+ in sales annually,
where he was Chairman and the largest individual shareholder.
He also served as a Vice President and Director of Helix BioMedix, Inc., a public
biopharmaceutical company focusing on the discovery, synthesis and commercialization
of novel, bioactive lytic peptides proprietarily termed Cytoporins, from October
1994 until September 1999, and served as Vice President – Treasurer, Chief Financial
Officer and Director from October 1999 until June 2001.
Thomas is active in numerous civic organizations. He is currently a member of the
Executive Committee of LSU Research and Technology Foundation (January 2004 to present),
Chairman of the Board of St. James Place, a continuing care retirement community
(July 2003 to Present), and a Member of the Board of Directors, Baton Rouge Area
Foundation (March 2006 to Present). He is also active in other business endeavors
such as real estate and the organization of several local companies. He has served
as a director of MD Technologies Inc. since June 2002.
Dr. Bruce C. Gockerman
Bruce graduated from Eastern Michigan University , receiving his AB in Economics,
Magna Cum Laude; Wayne State University School of Law, receiving his Juris Doctor;
University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, receiving his Masters of Business
Administration and Doctor of Management from Case Western Reserve University Weatherhead
School of Management.
He was in private practice from 1972 to 1976, VP/General Counsel for Century Boat
Company from 1976 to 1978; founder and managing partner of Gockerman, Wilson, Saylor
& Hesslin, P.C., from 1978 to 2000, where his practice specialized in corporate,
labor, real estate law, business litigation and municipal law.
From 1998 to the present, Bruce has served as President and Senior Advisor of interdisciplinary
economic and strategic management consulting at Standard Deviation Econometrics,
Ltd. He has been an Adjunct Professor and has published numerous papers and presentations.
