Medtopia EXPERT is the ultimate offering of MD Technologies combining our web-based practice management system with our premium billing and collection service. Insurance claims are billed and processed quickly and efficiently while customers have 24-hour online access to all patient accounts and receivables at any time. Medtopia’s dedicated professionals monitor every detail of the billing and collections process, from the initial charge entry of the claims to remittance advice posting to accounts receivable management.

HOW MEDTOPIA EXPERT WORKS

A. Patient charges are entered into the system by a Medtopia representative or by the physician’s office staff. Charges can be entered onsite at the customer’s office or they can be faxed or mailed to the Medtopia headquarters where they are entered within hours of receipt.

B. The charges and patient demographics are reviewed by the Medtopia staff to ensure that they are coded correctly and that all pertinent information is valid so that a clean claim can be generated. Medtopia analyzes claims and looks for potential errors that may cause a denial or delay in processing the claim.

C. The cleaned claim is generated automatically and sent electronically to the appropriate insurance carrier. Confirmation files are received and monitored to ensure that the claim was actually received by the carrier. The confirmation files and proof of receipt can be viewed online by the staff at any time.

D. When payments and EOBs are received, the Medtopia staff post the remittance advice to the patient’s account and perform whatever adjustments and secondary filings are necessary. If a claim is rejected, it will be analyzed and re-worked as soon as possible to minimize any delay in reimbursement.

E. The Medtopia EXPERT team routinely works the customer’s account receivables by following up with the insurance carriers on unpaid claims that may have fallen between the cracks.

SERVICE…THE PERSONAL TOUCH

Each Medtopia EXPERT customer is assigned an account manager who is regularly in contact with the physician’s office staff. The account manager works daily with the customer to address outstanding issues and is always available to answer questions and discuss all aspects of activities and results. The account managers also produce monthly reports that display periodic and year-to-date activity for each customer in a graphical and easy-to-read format.
