The physician in private practice today is faced with continually reduced
reimbursements while, at the same time, experiencing an increase in the cost of

efficient. This is what Medtopia Manager was designed to do.
The Medtopia Manager application is hosted in our secured data facility where
we perform all back-end processes that would normally require administration by
one of the office staff. As a result, there is no need to purchase and maintain
a file server, dedicated leased data lines, and tape backup drives. All that is
required are inexpensive PC workstations, a web browser, and a DSL or
equivalent Internet connection. Medtopia Manager is offered to customers as a
monthly subscription, which includes customer support, all future software
upgrades, and all back-end processes such as electronic claim processing,
electronic remittance posting, and data backups.
Medtopia Manager is an extremely easy system to use and has been designed so
that a novice can get up and running quickly. The application includes many
workflow queues to help make day-to-day operations in a practice run smoothly
and efficiently. For example, the Office Queue assists users with the flow of
patient information from the time that an appointment is initially scheduled
through the time that the patient is treated and checked out. Additionally, the
Claims Queue is utilized to help office staff follow and maintain claim
information from the time that the encounter is first entered into the system
until the point that it is paid. These built-in utilities are designed to help
eliminate mistakes and reduce the chances of delayed reimbursement from the
insurance companies. There are also dozens of user-friendly reports that
quickly give the office administrator a real-time glance at all of the
outstanding activity in the clinic.
The Medtopia Manager application includes more than just practice management
features such as claims processing, appointment scheduling, and patient account
management. The application also includes: human resource tools for managing
employee work schedules; user management tools such as email, contact lists,
task lists, office bulletin board, personal notes, and personal calendars;
inventory management for tracking office and medical supplies; prescription
tools for tracking and managing patient medications and refill requests; and a
hospital queue for keeping up with and managing hospitalized patients and the
corresponding billing information.
The Medtopia Manager application is not as much a product as it is a service.
